Thorough knowledge of employee benefit programs, administration, principles, practices, procedures and terminology; good knowledge of Federal, State, and District laws and policies and procedures that impact the proper and efficient administration of insurance coverage; good knowledge of employee benefits principles, practices and procedures; strong customer service skills; strong mathematical skills; strong clerical skills; ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships; ability to create and manipulate computerized spreadsheets, word documents, and databases; ability to follow instructions; ability to prepare reports.
(A) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State college with an Associate’s Degree; OR
(B) Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and two (2) years of full time paid experience in the administration of employee insurance benefits.
The successful candidate must take, pass, and be reachable on the “List of Eligibles” for the Rensselaer County Civil Service examination for Insurance Technician. All interested and qualified individuals wishing to become candidates for this position must meet the minimum qualifications, and submit a complete application packet that includes a cover letter, resume, East Greenbush Central School District application, and Rensselaer County Civil Service application (available on the district website) by July 7, 2025.
